Some closing thoughts on African & feminist philosophy
Inordinately large numbers of philosophers are, and have been, (white) men.
Because men and women bring different discursive resources to their understanding of their environments, there is a bias in the choice and definitions of problems when the process is filtered through masculine views of reason and rationality.
There is a lack of concern for women’s interests.
The implicit assumption that the male represents the species leads to a bias in interpreting human experience.
