Marianna White Davis
is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received a
bachelor’s degree in English from South Carolina State College, a
master’s in English from New York University, and a doctorate in
education/ English from Boston University. Davis has taught in public
schools and colleges, including, Benedict and Claflin Colleges. Among her
several books and articles, is one of the pioneer collections of
Afro-American women's biographies. Soror
Davis was executive producer of the PBS special “The Struggle
Continues”.
